Then travel north towards Murchison Falls National Park, passing through rural communities and changing landscapes. Arrive in the park and begin your introduction to Uganda's incredible wildlife.
Days 4–5 – Murchison Falls
Spend two days exploring Murchison Falls National Park, combining exciting game drives with a boat cruise along the Nile.
Search the savannah for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelope and other wildlife before taking to the water to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birdlife along the riverbanks.
The spectacular Murchison Falls, where the Nile is forced through a narrow gorge, provides one of the trip's most dramatic natural highlights.
Days 6–8 – Kibale Forest
Travel south towards Kibale Forest National Park, one of Uganda's most important primate destinations.
Experience chimpanzee trekking, exploring the lush tropical forest with experienced guides and trackers. There may also be opportunities to encounter other primates, birds and forest wildlife.
Spend time experiencing the communities and natural environment surrounding Kibale, including community and nature-based experiences that offer insight into local life and the relationship between people and the forest.
Days 9–11 – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where tropical forests give way to open savannah, wetlands and lakes.
Enjoy wildlife drives through the park, looking for elephants, buffalo, antelope, hippos and other species.
Take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, connecting Lakes Edward and George, for the chance to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and an incredible variety of birdlife from the water.
There will also be opportunities to experience the surrounding communities, providing a different perspective on life alongside one of Uganda's most famous national parks.
Days 12–15 – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Travel south towards the spectacular mountains and forests of **Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The major highlight is gorilla trekking, entering the ancient forest with experienced guides and trackers to search for one of Bwindi's habituated mountain gorilla families.
Spend additional time exploring the region through Batwa cultural experiences, community tourism and nature-based activities.
Learn about the Batwa people's history and deep connection with the forests of southwest Uganda, while meeting community members and experiencing local traditions, storytelling, music, crafts and other community-led activities.
Days 16–17 – Rwanda & Volcanoes Region
Cross the border into Rwanda and continue towards the spectacular Volcanoes region.
Explore the dramatic volcanic landscapes and experience the communities and culture of northern Rwanda. With its lush hills and towering volcanoes, this is a striking contrast to the savannah and forests experienced earlier in the journey.
Day 18 – Lake Kivu
Travel to beautiful Lake Kivu, one of Africa's Great Lakes.
Take time to relax beside the water, enjoy the surrounding scenery and experience some of the communities and local life around the lake.
After several days of trekking and wildlife experiences, this provides a chance to slow down and appreciate Rwanda's landscapes at a more relaxed pace.

Continue to Kigali, Rwanda's vibrant capital.
Spend time exploring the city's **culture, history, markets and neighbourhoods**, discovering a different side of Rwanda beyond its spectacular natural landscapes.
