Your Journey

Day 1 – Arrival in Uganda
Arrive in Uganda and meet your guide before transferring to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a relaxed introduction to Uganda or explore the local area before beginning your adventure.

Day 2 – Kampala → Murchison Falls National Park
Begin your journey north towards Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest national park. Travel through the countryside, passing rural communities and changing landscapes before arriving in the Murchison Falls region.

Day 3 – Murchison Falls Game Drive
Set out on a game drive through Murchison Falls National Park, exploring its vast savannah landscapes in search of wildlife.

Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelope, warthogs and a huge variety of birdlife. The park's open plains provide some of Uganda's classic safari scenery.

Day 4 – Boat Cruise & Murchison Falls
Take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile, travelling towards the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls.

The river is home to large numbers of hippos and crocodiles, while elephants and other wildlife can often be seen gathering along the banks. Continue to explore the area around the falls before returning to your accommodation.

Day 5 – Murchison Falls → Kibale Forest
Leave Murchison Falls behind and travel south towards Kibale Forest National Park.

Enjoy the changing scenery as the open landscapes of northern Uganda give way to the lush forests and rolling countryside of western Uganda.

Day 6 – Chimpanzee Trekking
Today, venture into Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience.

Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, explore the forest in search of wild chimpanzees. Kibale is famous for its incredible primate diversity, so there may also be opportunities to see other monkeys, birds and forest wildlife.

Day 7 – Kibale → Queen Elizabeth National Park
Travel onwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda's most famous wildlife destinations.

As the landscape changes from rainforest to savannah and wetlands, keep watch for wildlife along the route. Queen Elizabeth is home to elephants, buffalo, hippos, antelope and an incredible variety of birdlife.

Day 8 – Wildlife Safari & Boat Cruise
Spend the day exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park, beginning with a wildlife safari through its diverse habitats.

Later, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. From the water, you can see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous bird species along the shoreline.

Day 9 – Queen Elizabeth → Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Continue south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, travelling through the spectacular landscapes of southwest Uganda.

The journey takes you through rolling hills, rural communities and increasingly mountainous scenery before reaching the forested region around Bwindi.

Day 10 – Gorilla Trekking
The highlight of the journey: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Set off into the ancient forest with experienced guides and trackers in search of one of Bwindi's habituated mountain gorilla families. Once you find them, spend time observing these remarkable animals in their natural environment.

The trek can vary in length and difficulty depending on where the gorillas are

located, making every experience unique.

Day 11 – Batwa Cultural Experience
Spend the day learning more about the Batwa people, an Indigenous people of the Great Lakes region with a long history and deep connection to the forests of southwest Uganda.

Their traditional forest-based way of life was profoundly affected when areas such as Bwindi became protected national parks, resulting in the Batwa being displaced from their ancestral forest homes.

A community experience provides an opportunity to meet Batwa community members and learn about their history, traditions and contemporary lives. Depending on the experience, this may include storytelling, traditional music and dance, demonstrations of traditional skills and conversations about community life.

Where possible, community-led experiences provide direct economic benefits to local Batwa participants and community initiatives.

Day 12 – Bwindi → Kampala/Entebbe
Complete your Ugandan adventure with the journey back towards Kampala or Entebbe.

Enjoy the spectacular scenery of southwest Uganda along the way, with opportunities for stops depending on your onward travel arrangements.

From the mighty Nile and Murchison Falls to chimpanzees in Kibale and mountain gorillas in Bwindi, this 12-day adventure offers an incredible introduction to Uganda's wildlife, landscapes and communities.
