Your Journey

 

Day 1 – Arrival in Uganda
Arrive in Uganda and meet your guide before transferring to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, relax and settle in or begin exploring the local area.

 

Day 2 – Explore Kampala
Spend a day discovering Kampala, Uganda's lively capital. Experience the city's bustling streets, local markets, culture and everyday life before beginning your journey into the country's national parks.

 

Day 3 – Kampala → Murchison Falls National Park
Travel north towards Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest national park. Enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the city behind and travel through rural communities and countryside.

 

Day 4 – Murchison Falls Safari
Set out on a game drive through Murchison Falls National Park, exploring its expansive savannah landscapes in search of wildlife.

Look out for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelope, warthogs and abundant birdlife as you experience one of Uganda's classic safari destinations.

 

Day 5 – Boat Cruise & Transfer
Take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile, travelling towards the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls. The river provides opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous bird species.

Afterwards, continue your journey south towards your next destination.

 

Day 6 – Murchison Falls → Kibale Forest
Travel towards Kibale Forest National Park, passing through Uganda's changing landscapes and rural countryside.

Arrive in the Kibale area and prepare for tomorrow's chimpanzee trekking experience.

 

Day 7 – Chimpanzee Trekking
Venture into Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience.

With experienced guides and trackers, explore the forest in search of wild chimpanzees. Kibale is renowned for its incredible primate diversity, so there may also be opportunities to see other monkeys, birds and forest wildlife.

 

Day 8 – Kibale → Queen Elizabeth National Park

Continue onwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes you through beautiful western Ugandan landscapes as dense forest gives way to savannah and wetlands.

Arrive in the park and prepare for tomorrow's wildlife and boat experiences.

 

Day 9 – Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari & Boat Cruise
Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park on a wildlife safari, looking for elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, warthogs and other species.

Later, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. From the water, look out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and an incredible variety of birdlife.

 

Day 10 – Queen Elizabeth → Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Travel south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the spectacular hills, valleys and rural communities of southwest Uganda.

As you approach Bwindi, the landscape becomes increasingly mountainous and forested. Arrive in the region ready for your gorilla trekking experience.

 

Day 11 – Gorilla Trekking
Experience one of the world's most extraordinary wildlife encounters with gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Trek through the ancient forest with experienced guides and trackers in search of one of Bwindi's habituated mountain gorilla families. Once located, spend time observing these remarkable animals in their natural environment.

 

Day 12 – Batwa Cultural Experience
Learn more about the Batwa people, an Indigenous people of the Great Lakes region with a long history and deep connection to the forests of southwest Uganda.

A community-led experience offers an opportunity to learn about Batwa history, culture and contemporary life, potentially including storytelling, traditional music and dance, demonstrations of traditional skills and conversations with community members.

Where possible, these experiences are designed to provide direct economic benefits to Batwa participants and support local community initiatives.

 

Day 13 – Bwindi → Rwanda
Cross the border from Uganda into Rwanda, travelling through the spectacular mountainous landscapes of the region.

Continue towards Rwanda's northern volcanic region, taking in the scenery and rural communities along the way.

 

Day 14 – Volcanoes National Park
Explore the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Volcanoes National Park, dominated by Rwanda's dramatic volcanic mountains.

Enjoy the scenery and discover more about this remarkable region before continuing your journey towards Kigali.

 

Day 15 – Volcanoes National Park → Kigali
Travel from the volcanic region towards Kigali, Rwanda's vibrant capital.

Spend time experiencing the city, its culture, neighbourhoods and atmosphere, with opportunities to explore local markets and landmarks.

 

Day 16 – Kigali → Departure
Enjoy your final morning in Kigali before transferring to the airport for your departure.
