Your Journey

Day 1 – Kampala/Entebbe → Kibale Forest
Begin your journey from Kampala or Entebbe and travel west towards Kibale Forest National Park, one of Uganda's most important habitats for primates. The journey takes you through changing landscapes, rural communities and beautiful countryside before arriving near the forest.

 

Day 2 – Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Community Experience
Head into Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced guides, explore the forest in search of chimpanzees and discover the incredible biodiversity of one of Uganda's premier primate destinations.

Later, visit the Bigodi community, where you can learn about local life and experience the culture and traditions of the people living alongside Kibale Forest. Depending on the experience, you may encounter local crafts, food, storytelling and community-led activities.

 

Day 3 – Kibale → Queen Elizabeth National Park
Leave Kibale behind and travel towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda's best-known wildlife destinations. Enjoy spectacular views as the landscape changes from tropical forest to open savannah and wetlands.

There may also be opportunities to spot wildlife along the way, with the park home to elephants, buffalo, antelope, hippos and a wide variety of birdlife.

 

Day 4 – Queen Elizabeth → Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Continue south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, travelling through some of Uganda's most spectacular scenery. The journey takes you towards the forested mountains of southwest Uganda, with opportunities to stop and enjoy viewpoints and local communities along the route.

Arrive in the Bwindi area ready for the following day's unforgettable gorilla trek.

 

Day 5 – Gorilla Trekking → Departure/Next Destination
The highlight of the trip: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Set off with your trekking guides into the ancient forest in search of one of the park's habituated mountain gorilla families.

Spending time observing these remarkable animals in their natural habitat is a truly memorable experience. After the trek, continue to your next destination or begin your journey back towards Kampala/Entebbe, depending on your onward travel plans.
